Oil filters in a combination system

What are the advantages of combining bypass filters with full flow filters? What is a free jet centrifuge? How is it constructed? How does the oil centrifuge filter work? You can find information here.

If bypass filters are used in combination with full flow filters, a very effective filtration is achieved: The finest particulates, which are allowed through by the full flow filter, are filtered out by the bypass filter. The bypass filter ensures extremely thorough cleaning with a high level of separation. In utility vehicles and construction machinery, the open jet centrifuge (oil centrifuge filter) is primarily used as a bypass filter. The oil, which is diverted from the main duct into a bypass duct, flows through the hollow shaft of the impeller into the interior of the filter via suitably arranged holes. Specially positioned discharge nozzles in the floor allow the oil back out of the centrifuge.

This process releases recoil forces that cause the impeller to rotate. Here, speeds of 4000 to 8000 rpm can be reached, depending on the pressure and temperature. The centrifugal forces generated during this rotation fling the dirtparticles in the oil onto the inside wall of the impeller. They remain stuck there until the centrifuge is replaced at the next specified maintenance interval.
